A Legacy of Compassionate Retina Care
Luke White, M.D., was an extraordinary physician, surgeon, teacher, and friend to so many. He cared deeply for his patients and had a special gift for making people feel seen, heard, and hopeful during some of the most difficult moments in their lives.
Dr. White, alongside Dr. Feist, formed Retina Consultants of Alabama in 1992. With a heart for the Birmingham community and a true passion for preserving sight, Dr. White helped build his practice on a foundation of compassion, excellence, and service. Through his skilled hands, thoughtful leadership, and dedication to advancing retina care, he made a lasting difference in the lives of thousands of patients and families.
Dr. White lost his battle with Type I Diabetes on May 20, 2009, but his legacy remains an important part of who we are today. His kindness, integrity, and commitment to exceptional patient care continue to inspire our practice and all those who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.
